Tiger Woods to play in Charlotte in early May

Tiger Woods is taking a three-week break before returning to golf at the Wells Fargo Championship.

Woods announced Wednesday he will resume an up-and-down season May 3-6 at Quail Hollow, where he won in 2007. He also committed to The Players Championship the following week. A year ago, he injured his left Achilles tendon and withdrew after nine holes at TPC Sawgrass. Woods missed the next three months. But first, a rest.

Charlotte Bobcats’ Paul Silas says it’s “exhilarating”

Charlotte Bobcats coach Paul Silas called Corey Maggette’s availability a “godsend,” as the team with the NBA’s worst record has all its players healthy for the first time this season in a 7:30 game tonight against the Detroit Pistons.

The Pistons and Bobcats play at The Palace of Auburn Hills. While the Pistons have beaten some opponents who were missing key pieces en route to an 11-25 record, they will face a 4-28 Bobcats team that has a healthy roster tonight for the first time.
